This World Bowls annual event took place from 27 March to 2 April 2009 at the Warilla Bowls and Recreation Club in New south Wales, Australia. Hong Kong team was represented by Stephen Chan and Queenie Lai. The youth development team representatives were Ken Chan and Andrea Chan. They participated in the World Junior Cup Singles.

The Hong Kong International Bowls Classic 2008 was held from 6-14 December 2008. Hong Kong was represented by Ken Chan, Noel Kennedy, Grace Chu and Elizabeth Cormack.

The 7th Asian Lawn Bowls Championship and 5th Asian Under 25 Singles Championship were hosted by the Chinese Multi-Bowls Association.
