The 1st Japan International Open 2009 was hosted by Bowls Japan. The tournament was held on 1-2 November 2009 at Shiawase-no-mura Green in Kobe.
Hong Kong team was represented by K.K. Yeung, Jimmy Chiu, James Keung and team manager Vincent Cheung.
The team won Silver medal out of the 12 teams in this inaugural event.
1. To oversee the overall development of the sport in HK.

7. To explore and secure sponsorships for all LBA activities.
8. To ensure all guidelines and procedures issued by the government, the World Bowls and the LBA are strictly adhered to.
