Clarification on improper player during league matches (Issued on 7/7/22)

 

We have received inquiries about the penalty for the violation of the rules of registered/tied players.

 

According to the revised bye-laws in Version 18:

 

3.8.a. Where there is a breach of Bye-law 2.5.b, 2.11, 2.12, 3.6, or 3.7, the defaulting side shall have two points deducted from its total league point.  The team on the opposing side in which the defaulting player plays against shall have the result adjusted to win if they lose or draw.

 

Below is an illustration of the case.

 

1. In match XYZ-B vs BCD-B, one of the registered players of XYZ-A played down

3. After confirming that a player has breached bye-law 3.6 (registered player) or 3.7 (tied player), the League panel will impose these penalties:

a) deduct two points from the total league points

b) adjust the score of Team 3 to losing by four shots

4. The final result of the match

 

XYZ-B: 4 points (after deducted 2 points), +16 shots

BCD-B: 2 points, -16 shots.
