In an effort to further strengthen our coaching resources, we are now inviting interested bowlers to apply for the position of lawn bowls coach.
The basic requirements for the applicants are:
- At least five years of bowling experience, and should have played at least 50% of the games in the HKLBA premier league in each season in the past five years (2008-2012); and
- Should have gained at least five points annually from National Competitions in three of the last five years.
- Age 18 and above; and
- Recommended by the applicant’s club lawn bowls convenor and a qualified coach who is on the existing HKLBA Coach List; and
- Pleasant personality and be willing to help develop the sport; and
- Physically fit to conduct training courses under demanding environment.
Once your application has been received a screening process will be conducted by HKLBA’s Coaching Panel. The successful applicants will then undergo training, assessment (interview & skill test) and practice organised by HKLBA and to take part in a Sports-General Theory course organized by HK Coaching Committee before they are awarded a certificate of Level One Coach by HKLBA.
Please note that the first lecture is scheduled on Thursday 13 June, 2013 (7pm-10pm) at Olympic House in Causeway Bay for the successful candidates and the assessment is tentative set for Saturday 6 July and 13 July 2013 from 9 am to 1 pm, venue to be confirmed.
The enrollment fee for the training course, assessment (interview & skill test) and practice organised by HKLBA is about HK$600. Details will be advised in the notification letter for successful candidates.
