Relax of 22 days rule for league reschedule games (Issued on 2/9/23)

  Many games need to be rescheduled due to typhoon Saola or green conditions. Considering the green availability situations, the League Panel recommended relaxing the constraint of playing the games within 22 days. All rescheduled games can be rescheduled over 22 days and must be completed one week before the fixture date of the final matches....

SBI matches will change to Tai Po effective from Sep 2023 (Issued on 31/8/23)

  SBI Green at Mei Foo will be closed from 1 Sep 2023. The League panel approved that all the games being arranged in SBI will be changed to Tai Po.

Councilors Responsibility

1.         To attend the Members’ Meetings and meetings of Council of Management;

2.         To give comments and advice on the operation of LBA and make recommendations to the Council of Management;

3.         To monitor the operation of LBA to ensure it complies with the Articles of Association and Bye-laws;

4.         To collect the views from the Member clubs for discussion in the Council of Management;

5.         To act as a member of the Panels presided by the subject officers; and

6.          Perform any other duties as directed by the President or Council of Management.

Officer Responsibility - Asst. Hon. Secretary

1. Maintain the inventory of LBA.
2. To chair a procurement panel for all LBA procurements.
3. To check and proofread the brochures printed by LBA.
4. To maintain an updated version of the LBA Bye laws, AoA and guidelines.

Officer Responsibility - Hon. Secretary

1. Prepare and maintain minutes of all LBA COMs, AGMs and EGMs.
2. Take charge of the correspondences between LBA and all related agencies both locally and internationally, including affiliated clubs.
3. To deal with all staff related matters.
4. Maintain and update all office administrative records.

Officer Responsibility - Hon. Treasurer

1. To supervise all accounting procedures for LBA.
2. To prepare the LBA annual plan for government subvention.
3. To prepare statement of accounts and audited accounts for the LBA COMs and AGMs.
4. To scrutinize all claims before payment is made.
5. Forewarn the COM before any financial difficulties when observed.

Officer Responsibility - VP Technical

1. To chair the umpire and coaching panel to deal with all umpiring and coaching matters.
2. To set rules for all local competitions and international tournaments held in HK.
3. To provide advices to all parties in relation to the standard of greens and all bowling equipments.
4. Liaise closely with the World Bowls Laws Committee relating to any changes in the laws of the sport.
5. Liaise with the media relating to the report and broadcasting of our sport.
6. To manage and take charge of the LBA website.

Officer Responsibility - VP Championships

1. Prepare the annual competitions schedule
2. To chair the national championship panel to deal with all championship matter.
3. To maintain an update record for the annual bowler of the year.
4. To arrange the trophies and prize money for all the winners at the annual presentation dinner.

Officer Responsibility - VP International

1. To maintain and update the list of the Hong Kong, China Squad at a number approved by the COM.
2. To prepare and regulate rules and criteria of the Hong Kong, China Squad members.
3. To act as Secretary of the High Performance Committee to select Hong Kong, China Squad members to represent Hong Kong at international events.
4. To arrange coaching and training for the Hong Kong, China Squad and make recommendations to the High Performance Committee.
5. To prepare budgets for the Hong Kong, China Teams and Hong Kong, China Squad.
6. To recommend and select Hong Kong, China Team managers at the COM.
7. To liaise with international bodies or national authorities on all international competitions.

1. To oversee the overall development of the sport in HK.
2. To attend or delegate the attendance of LBA in all meetings and functions held locally and overseas by the government associated or affiliated bodies.
3. To preside all LBA COMs, AGMs and GMs.
4. To monitor and coordinate the different programmes to ensure the smooth running of the sport and LBA.
5. To chair the discipline and appeal panel to deal with all discipline and appeal matters.
6. To maintain a harmonious relationship with all associated and affiliated bodies both internationally and locally.
7. To explore and secure sponsorships for all LBA activities.
8. To ensure all guidelines and procedures issued by the government, the World Bowls and the LBA are strictly adhered to.
