Over the years,\u00a0Vincent\u00a0saw through many key organisational changes that meant that bowls not only survived what was known as \u2018The Handover\u2019 in 1997\u00a0(of the colony from the UK to China)\u00a0but\u00a0emerged\u00a0as a vibrant sport enjoyed by indigenous Hong Kongers.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Thanks,\u00a0in no small measure to Vincent\u2019s influence, there are now more clubs and more bowlers in Hong Kong than ever before, and a dynamic junior development program. Anyone who has attended the Hong Kong International Classic will confirm that Vincent possessed the charm of a soft-spoken diplomat \u2013 but there was no doubt of his strength of character, as he exercised his considerable authority in a quiet, unassuming way, and always had a steady hand on the tiller.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>A tribute from the LBAHK summed Vincent up very well: \u201cVincent dedicated his life to advancing lawn bowls in Hong\u00a0Kong, leaving behind an extraordinary legacy of passion,\u00a0leadership\u00a0and unwavering commitment to the sport.
