Hong Kong Bowlers top Asian Championship<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

HONG KONG, 9 December, 2014 \u2013 The Hong Kong lawn bowls team achieved their biggest ever success at the Asian Championship, winning five gold medals and the overall champion at the event which was concluded today, December 9, 2014.\u00a0 The team also won medals in all the categories entered, winning an addition of three silvers and two bronzes. <\/span><\/p>\n

The gold medals came from men\u2019s singles and pairs, women\u2019s singles and pairs, as well as the U25 girls singles.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Hong Kong\u2019s Tony Cheung defeated Hommer Mercado from the Philippines to lift the men\u2019s singles title, and went on to partner Stanley Lai to win the pairs.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

In the women\u2019s section, Dorothy Yu defeated India representative Lovely Choubey to win her women\u2019s singles gold medal.\u00a0 Before that she partnered Helen Cheung to take gold at the pairs, also against the India team in the final.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Hong Kong\u2019s last gold came from 22 years old Vivian Yip, who took the U25 Junior singles by defeating Malaysian girl Nur Ain Nabilah Binti Tarmizi.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

The 10th<\/sup> Asian Lawn Bowls Championship 2014, featured 10 strong bowling countries in the region, was held from December 3 to 9 at Bijiashan Park, Shenzhen, China. With China as host, Brunei, Hong Kong, India, Japan, Macau, Malaysia, Pakistan, Philippines and Singapore also participated.<\/span><\/p>\n
